Casa Grande holds off Santa Rosa, 57-49

Casa Grande had a big third quarter and then held off Santa Rosa in the final minutes to post a 57-49 victory on Thursday night.

After trailing by a point at halftime, the Gauchos outscored the Panthers 19-8 in the third quarter.

The lead stayed in double digits until the final two minutes when consecutive 3-pointers by Cameron Foster narrowed the gap to 51-47. However, in the waning moments, Casa was perfect shooting six free throws to ice the NBL win.

"It turned out to be nerve-wracking," winning coach James Forni said. "After those two 3-pointers went in, I knew the game was going to come down to how well we shot our free throws."

Jake Ielmorini, Tyler Nadolski and Cetrick Yeanay each hit a pair from the foul line.
