How exciting that Alexa DeGraca, a 2011 grad of Petaluma's St. Vincent High, will dance, leap, jump and twirl at the Superdome Sunday as a new 49er Gold Rush Cheerleader.
And given all that she's done in the past week, it's remarkable she can stay awake and put one foot before the other.
Her dad, Ken, shares that last Sunday she was in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl, where the longtime competitive dancer performed at the pregame show with the group, Train.
Alexa flew home, took a nap and then took off for New Orleans as one of the 10 — of 32 — Gold Rush Cheerleaders chosen to arrive ahead of the Super Bowl for pre-game appearances.
This past week she appeared on E! News and other newscasts, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (you can catch the broadcast Sunday), Good Morning America (along with Tim McGraw, Jerry Rice and Emeril Lagasse), Inside Edition and Entertainment Tonight.
She'll be rather busy at the big game, then comes the 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. (Central Time!) 49er team party.
We'll hope Alexa can sleep on the flight home because she needs to be alert for her nursing classes at SRJC.
