Three individuals raised concerns about a proposed fueling station, which they said could have as many as 16 pumps, at the Safeway on South McDowell Boulevard during public comment at Monday's closed session city council meeting.
The speakers, owners of the Valero and Chevron stations in town, worried about impacts on their business, as well as traffic.
The City Manager confirmed that staff is looking into the issue and that it will come before the Planning Commission and City Council, but probably not by the council's next regularly scheduled Sept. 9 meeting.
The council also continued Monday's closed session discussion to a meeting, regarding potential litigation, for today at 7 p.m.
The meeting will take place in the council chambers at 11 English Street.

(Editor's note: An earlier version of this story reported that the proposed station would have 16 bays. The actual proposal is for 16 pumps.)
