Sophomore Taylor Kerrigan doubled with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning to drive in the game's only runs and lead Petaluma High School's T-Girls to a 3-0 win over Concord Thursday evening.
The win was especially satisfying for Petaluma coming against the team that beat it in last season's North Coast Section championship game.
After her big hit, Kerrigan, playing right field, made a shoe string catch in the bottom of the seventh inning to help keep Concord from mounting a comeback rally. She was two-for-three in the game.
Senior Dana Thomsen pitched an exceptional game for the T-Girls, allowing just four hits and walking only one, while striking out eight.
Other hits for the T-Girls were by Gianna Moretti, Thomsen and Emily Corda.
The win was the fourth straight for Petaluma following a season-opening loss to Pinole Valley.
The T-Girls face cross-town rival Casa Grande on the Lady Gaucho diamond Tuesday evening at 4 p.m.
