Curious about nanotechnology? Wondering about bird tracking, the origins of meaning, or the promise of stem cell research? Daniel Osmer brings together the scientists who answer questions like these with expertise and playfulness in his Science Buzz Caf? a Sebastopol tradition since 2006. Kicking off its first lively evening at Petaluma's Aqus Caf?on Tuesday, April 2, from 6 to 9 p.m., is Philip D. Harriman, PhD, retired Program Director for Microbial Genetics at the National Science Foundation.
The topic for the evening: Extremophiles: Life at the Extremes. Harriman will share his extensive knowledge about microbes that live at the extremes of conditions that support life on Earth.
EarthRise Center, hosting Science Buzz Caf?on its Petaluma campus since last fall, is excited about this collaboration with Aqus to present the joy and fun of science, as only Science Buzz Caf?can do it, in downtown Petaluma.
