Casa picked over Maria Carrillo

Rancho Cotate (4-1, 2-0 NBL) at Montgomery (4-1, 1-1 NBL)

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.

Last week: Rancho Cotate defeated Ukiah, 28-0. Montgomery beat Cardinal Newman, 31-25.

Notable: Coach Dean Haskins is having the time of his life in his first year leading the Vikings' program. "It's been fantastic," he said. "The kids are a lot of fun to be around and have such a great attitude." … RJ Flores continues to shine while stepping in for injured quarterback Elijah Higgs (shoulder injury). In the upset of Cardinal Newman, he completed 12 of 16 passes. "He's improving every game and practice," Haskins said of the junior. "That's especially true for the way he's managing games." … Running back Logan Francavilla gained 162 yards against Newman and has 722 for the season. "He's a sturdy, tough kid," Haskins said. "He run the ball hard and has gotten stronger as the season has progressed." … Henry Stelzner has 57 tackles for the Vikings. That's more than twice as many as any of his teammates … Rancho is beginning a stretch of four road games in five weeks … Tight end/defensive end Danny Ngo is injured and will miss the game for the Cougars … This is Montgomery's homecoming.

The pick: Montgomery
