Local gal weds actor

A celebrity wedding in Iceland might not seem to have much of a local connection.

But it was Petaluman Nicole (Nikki) Susan Boyd who said "I do" to Bam Margera, famous for his role as a stuntman on the television series "Jackass," in Reykjavik on Saturday.

The couple said their vows at the Random Hero Festival, an event benefitting a local skate park, in a wedding that made headlines on websites like E! Online and USmagazine.com.

Nikki Boyd, 29, is the daughter of Warren Paul Boyd and Cynthia Sherill Boyd and grew up in Petauma, attending La Tercera Elementary, Kenilworth Junior High, and Sonoma Mountain High School. She is now a well-known photographer.

She first met Margera, star of Jackass, Viva LaBam and the series CKY, while photographing a CKY concert backstage in July 2009. The two hit it off right away and immediately started spending time together, according to her brother, Warren Michael Boyd.

Margera proposed this year in Iceland, a place the two visited many times and felt a connection to, Boyd said: "They were so captivated by it's unparalleled beauty that they decided to wed on the land they love so much."

The wedding was followed by a large concert and an art auction / benefit to help raise money for the family of Margera's longtime friend Ryan Dunn, co-star of Jackass, Viva LaBam and CKY, who died in a car crash in 2011.

Additional proceeds will be given to Iceland to help rebuild a skate park in the name of Dunn.

The couple now lives in West Chester, PA. and are working on a new TV series that will air on CBS and feature both Nikki and Bam.
