St. Vincent team took over first place in the North Central League II with a three-set victory over Roseland Prep, 25-9, 25-17 and 25-19. It was the seventh straight victory for St. Vincent. The Lady Mustangs are now 8-1 in league play.

Leading the victory for St. Vincent were senior Brooke Montgomery with 11 kills and nine aces, junior Hannah Sarlatte with six kills and nine assists and freshmen Ali Fetter with 12 assists. Also playing a major role in the win were freshmen Sarah Calabrese with five kills and Isabel Velez with eight digs.

Shelters for Pawnee fire evacuees

Lower Lake High School, 9430 Lake St., Lower Lake, is the official shelter established for people evacuating from the Pawnee fire. It is equipped to handle animals.

The Clearlake Oaks Moose Lodge, 15900 E. Highway 20, Clearlake Oaks, is not authorized by the Office of Emergency Services but is also sheltering fire evacuees, mostly people in campers and RVs who want their animals with them.

There is an authorized Lake County animal services station in an open field at Highway 53 and Anderson Ridge Road in Lower Lake.
