T-Girls shut out Sonoma Valley

The Petaluma High School girls softball team stretched its winning streak to 19 straight and remained undefeated in the Sonoma County League Thursday evening, riding the 3-hit pitching of Dana Thomsen to a 6-0 win over Sonoma Valley.

A four-run second inning was more than enough support for Thomsen.

Katie Bisges led a strong T-Girl hitting attack with three hits and two RBIs. Brie Gerhardt and Nicole Wiecks each had two hits, with Wiecks hitting a double and driving in two runs.

Petaluma is now 9-0 in league and 19-1 overall.

The T-Girls step out of league play Saturday to host Alhambra from Martinez in a noon game.

The game matches two of the best North Coast Section teams with Alhambra bringing a 16-1-1 record into the contest.
