A school record, an impressive win and several personal bests highlighted Petaluma High efforts in the talent-ladden Viking Invitational hosted by Montgomery.
Sophomore Allison Scranton borke the Petalum school record in the discus, winning the event in 129-9. Her brother, senior Teddy Scranton had a season's best in the same event, throwing 153-8.
Ryan Douglas led a very strong 1,600 field, winning in 4:19.1 Teammate Casey Kramer had by far his best run of the season, lowering his PR from 4:32.0 to 4:23.8.
Petaluma coach Doug Johnson also complimented the strong efforts of Zack Coosper. J.P. Crudop, Madison Parratt, Tillman Schmidt and Ty Pearson, all with personal best marks for the season.
The Petaluma High boys team is a perfect 4-0 against Sonoma County League opposition, while the girls are 3-1 with a final tri-meet of the year this week at Elsie Allen against the Lobos and Analy.
Casa Grande received an outstanding effort in the Viking Classic by Brycen Poarch who sailed 43-6 1/2 inches to win the triple jump.
