Two Ton Turkey Challenge

Petaluma resident Denise Redeker is hosting her annual Turkey Party from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at New Life Christian Fellowship, 1310 Clegg St. (just off North McDowell Boulevard).

The annual turkey drive to benefit the Redwood Gospel Mission has been a Redeker tradition for many years.

"Last year, with 200 people in my house, we decided it had outgrown this place and we would move it to our church, New Life Christian Fellowship," she said.

This year, the event is being called the Two Ton Turkey Challenge. The hope is that the event will raise two tons of frozen turkeys for the Redwood Gospel Mission.

"It's to help to provide a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to everyone in the county who would otherwise go without," said Redeker.
