Fun on the Fourth

Petaluma's Fourth of July festivities begin with the annual Bell Ringing Ceremony on Thursday, July 4. The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m., with the bell ringing at 11 a.m. Lemonade and cookies will be served in the museum garden. The Petaluma Museum is located at 20 Fourth St. Admission is free. The PTown4th and fireworks show is from 3 to 10 p.m. at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds, 175 Fairgrounds Drive. Games/activities begin at 3 p.m., with live music at 5 p.m. and fireworks at 9:20 p.m. Admission: $2 general, $1 kids, and free for children ages 3 and under.

What to bring: chairs, blankets. What not to bring: personal fireworks, cooking equipment (barbecue grills) or glass containers of any kind. For information, visit the PTown4th page on Facebook.
