Woman, 27, arrested on drug, assault charges

A 27-year-old McKinleyville woman was arrested late Thursday night after allegedly swallowing LSD tablets in the presence of police officers and then fighting with them.

Officers approached a vehicle near Rinehart's Truck Stop, on the block of 2600 Petaluma Blvd. South, at 11:02 p.m. and began speaking with the two people inside, Adrienne Floreen and Mark Weaver, a 25-year-old homeless man.

During the conversation, Floreen swallowed an undetermined amount of LSD in an attempt to destroy evidence, and when officers attempted to take her into custody, she began to fight and tried to bite them, said Sgt. Jim Stephenson of the Petaluma Police Department.

Weaver, her boyfriend, attempted to intervene as officers tried to arrest Floreen.

Floreen was arrested for assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of LSD and destruction of evidence, and was booked into Sonoma County Jail. Weaver was arrested for resisting or delaying a police officer, Stephenson said.
