Local businesses that contributed to the effort include Jungle Vibes (helium balloons), Noah?s Bagels, Peet?s Coffee, Heritage Salvage, the Petaluma Movie series and California Printed. It?s one more reason to shop locally!

We heartily thank the Phoenix Jazz Workshop for great jazz and the Sofa Kings for music that got everyone onto the dance floor; JT Bymaster for leading us in song and Joe Kowalski for music in the lobby, the wonderful string band that also played and Tom Gaffey for welcoming us to the Phoenix Theater.

Dozens of individuals helped set up, serve food, entertain, and spread the word. Many jumped in without giving us their names. They are what community is all about. We thank them here.

We thank the groups that shared their work with us, including Daily Acts, Food Not Bombs, Friends of the Petaluma River, Impact, Living Wage Coalition, Mentor Me Petaluma, Petaluma Blacks for Community Development, Petaluma Neighborhood Association, Petaluma4Change, Petaluma Progressives, and Petaluma Tomorrow.

Most especially, we thank the more than 500 Petalumans who showed up and generously donated more than $3,500 to support the Phoenix Theater and the Petaluma Big Tent project. You are the heart and soul of our town.

Bonnie Allen, Petaluma Progressives
