(4 of ) Many people have bikes that have been collecting dust in the garage for years, according to Allen. These bikes came from members of his Unitarian Universalist church.
(5 of ) The bikes are loaded in his truck and were distributed to the day laborers that gather mornings at Washington and Howard Streets. "If I'd been born in Guatemala, I'd be standing there too," says Allen.

(7 of ) Allen first started wiorking with Spanish-speaking people during his years in the Peace Corps in Ecuador. Now he mentors and volunteers with the local Spanish-speaking population.

(9 of ) Allen appealed to his fellow church members for their help. “I hope that other people are going to say, wow that’s a really good idea for our hiking group, our yacht group, says Allen.”
(10 of ) “This is really easy. No matter who you are, you could easily send out an email to everyone you know, collect the bikes and give them away,” said Allen.
