Casa Grande football ranked No. 6

The Empire's prep football powers rose in Northern California's latest rankings, a newcomer made the small school poll, and a pair of undefeated teams gained notice.

Rancho Cotate (6-0) moved up a spot to fourth and Casa Grande (5-1) three places to sixth in the Division II North rankings from Cal-Hi Sports. The teams meet in a North Bay League contest Friday.

Also from the NBL is Cardinal Newman (6-0), which remained third in the Division III North rankings.

Two undefeated Empire squads were listed among Division III North bubble teams: Analy (7-0) from the Sonoma County League; and St. Helena (6-0) from the North Central League I ranks.

Entering the Division IV North poll was Upper Lake (4-2) from the North Central/Bay Area League at ninth. Hanging on as a bubble team in Division IV North is St. Vincent (4-2), also from the North Central/Bay Area League.
