Petaluma River Heritage Days

The scow schooner Alma and the replica of a Chinese shrimp junk Grace Quan will visit Petaluma for River Heritage Days in the Turning Basin Oct. 11-14.

On Oct. 13, both vessels will be open for public viewing from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Friends of the Petaluma River host a free happy hour featuring music by The Easy Leaves from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the David Yearsley River Heritage Center. A barbecue chicken dinner will be available for $10. A screening of the film, "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" will follow at 8 p.m.

On Oct. 14, the Alma will sail the Petaluma River from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tickets are $20 adults, free for children under 12 and may be purchased at the Oct. 13 open house. Space is limited. Boarding for the sail is at 10:30 a.m. For information, call 364-4567 or (415) 292-6664.
