Petaluma officials issue flood advisory

Petaluma officials issued a severe weather warning Sunday morning, saying that flooding was "highly possible" in low-lying areas.

Officials attributed the possible flooding to a high tide expected around 10 a.m. in addition to heavy rainfall.

Areas expected to be most affected included "Auto Row" and the low-lying areas off Industrial Drive.

"Please take the appropriate steps to prepare for flooding in these areas, but your safety is the priority," read a statement issued by the Petaluma Fire Department. "Please do not attempt to drive or wade through flooded areas."
