Petaluma police seek missing man

Petaluma Police are asking the public for help finding a man reported missing by his family.

J. Roy Martinez of Petaluma did not show up for work on Tuesday, and his wife called the police to report his disappearance. Petaluma police said they found Martinez's car at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma. Inside, they found his car keys, glasses, wallet and the clothing he wore to work, the police said.

They did not find any signs of foul play, but in a statement police said there were indications Martinez "may have left under suspicious circumstances."

Police searched the area but could not find Martinez.

Martinez reportedly left home for several days in 2012 because he felt stressed, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Petaluma Police Department at 778-4372 or text 888777.
