Pick of the Litter thrift shop is hosting a book reading with author Shirley Zindler at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31.

Zindler is the author of “The Secret Life of Dog Catchers: An Animal Control Officer’s Passion to Make a Difference.”

Admission is free. Donations will be accepted and copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Pick of the Litter is located at 143 Petaluma Blvd. North.
