One elderly dog named Lily sparked a movement to save adoptable senior dogs from euthanasia, which became known as Lily’s legacy. The nonprofit rescue shelter provides loving homes for older dogs, which often have more difficulty finding their forever homes.

Lagunitas Brewing Co. is showing its support with “Barks for Bucks,” a fundrasier for Lily’s Legacy to be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the tap room, 1280 N. McDowell Blvd. There is no charge to attend the afternoon event. Guests are welcome to bring their dog for a professional pet photo for a $20 donation. There will also be a wide variety of silent auction items, including gift certificates to local businesses like Pub Republic, Mary’s Pizza Shack, the Petaluma Pet Company and the velvet dog spa.
