Humorist and comic actor Nick Offerman will greet fans at Copperfield’s Books in Petaluma on June 25.|

Humorist and comic actor Nick Offerman will greet fans at Copperfield’s Books June 25 after his publicist called requesting a last-minute appearance.

The New York Times bestselling author sometimes shops at the Petaluma and Sebastopol stores with his family, Copperfield’s spokeswoman Vicki DeArmon said.

Offerman is married to actress Megan Mullaly of “Will and Grace” fame.

“He’s at the American Library Association meeting in S.F. and said he’d like to come up to Copperfield’s,” DeArmon said.

Offerman, People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive 2012: Mustache Edition,” has had roles in the TV show “Parks and Recreation” and movies like “The Men Who Stare at Goats.”

Offerman’s latest book is “Gumption: Relighting the Torch of Freedom with America’s Gutsiest Troublemakers,” a list as disaparate as George Washington and Willie Nelson.

A pass for the 7 p.m. event is required, available with the purchase of the book at Copperfield’
