People who are caring for loved ones are invited to a free afternoon workshop in Petaluma May 1 that offers information, support, strategies and resources.

“Caregiving With Grace” is being organized by The Fabulous Women of Sonoma County, who are dedicated to doing good works and offering support for people in need.

Kira Reginato, owner of Living Ideas for Elders and author of “Tips for Helping Your Aging Parent (without losing your mind)” will address the need for support and respite, and Marcy Baskin, an elder care manager, family coach and author of “Assisted Living...Questions I Wish I had Asked,” will offer advice on how to make tough decisions and tap into local resources.

Other speakers include Dietrich Stroeh, author of “Three Months...A Care-Giving Journey from Heartbreak to Healing,” who will share the life lessons he learned through journaling during the final months of his wife’s life. Claudia Orson Terry, a yoga instructor, will share her personal story about caring for her father while managing the pressure of raising young children. Terry will discuss how yoga and meditation helped her find peace and relaxation.

There is no cost for the workshop, although a donation of $20 is suggested for those who are able to afford it. Tax-deductible contributions will go to PEP Housing, which provides affordable housing and services for seniors on limited incomes.

The workshop is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rooster Run Golf Club and Event Center, 2301 E. Washington St., Petaluma. For more information, call Krista Gawronski at 799-2153.
