Petaluma theater rolls out red carpet for locally filmed ‘Running Wild’ starring Sharon Stone
“Running Wild,” a movie with actress Sharon Stone and one of six films made in Petaluma by Hollywood producer, actor, writer and director Ali Afshar, will premiere Friday, Feb. 10, both in Petaluma and nationwide.
The evening includes a 6:30 p.m. red carpet meet-and-greet with Afshar and two film screenings, at 7 and 9:10 p.m. at Petaluma’s Boulevard Cinemas. Admission is $10.25, and tickets are available in advance at Fandango.com and Friday at the theater’s box office.
“Running Wild” stars Dorian Brown Pham as a recently widowed California ranch owner struggling to save not only her property, but a herd of wild horses.
Afshar, a graduate of Petaluma’s Casa Granda High School, has a history of giving his hometown a starring role in his films. Previous films include “The Dog Lover: The Wrong Side of Right,” screened last summer in Petaluma.
