FRIDAY
Aqua Nett
Big hair meets the big sound of the '80s as Aqua Nett blows into town for an ozone-depleting evening of Sunset Strip-era party rock. Turning the amps up to eleven, Aqua Nett play your favorite metal tunes by Guns 'N Roses, Billy Idol, Whitesnake, and a lot of other groups whose music was used in that 'Rock of Ages' movie with Tom Cruise. That movie sucked. But this show is gonna rock-and-roll all night. 8 p.m. The Big Easy, 128 American Alley. Tickets $10. Thebigeasy.com for more details.
One Armed Joey
Melodic punk rock served up with a side-order of ska-pop-skate fury and sheer rebellious joy. The Phoenix Theater, 201 E. Washington. 8 p.m. $8 cover. Thephoenixtheater.com for more details.
SATURDAY
The Page Turners
Carolyn Kendrick and Jake Howard met as students at Berklee School of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Performing under the name The Page Turners, their adeptness at bringing fresh energy to folk, bluegrass, country, and swing – with the help of some crazy good lyrics – has earned them a sturdy fan-base and a pack of awards. This weekend, the duo is celebrating the release of their brand new self-titled EP at Jamison's Roaring Donkey, 146 Kentucky. 9 p.m. No Cover. Roaring-donkey.com.
