FARM VISIT/BARBECUE FIRE RECOVERY BENEFIT – TARA FIRMA FARMS

All proceeds will be donated to the Redwood Credit Union’s Fire Relief Fund.
What’s happening? At Tara Firma’s monthly Bring Your Friends to the Farm BBQ event, the community is invited to come out for an afternoon of hiking, fishing and a farm tour, plus a barbecue lunch.
Who does it help? The Redwood Credit Union Fire Relief Fund was set up to assist those affected by the October firestorms in Sonoma County. For information on the fund visit Redwoodcu.org.
What else should we know? The event takes place at Tara Firma Farms, 3796 I St. Admission is $10, and barbecue lunch is available for purchase. Dogs on leashes are permitted. MATRIX PARENT NETWORK – HOPS & HARMONIES BENEFIT
Tuesday, January 30, 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Two eclectic local bands – acoustic jazz ensemble Vardo and folk-Americana sextet O Happy Dagger – will perform at a big beer, food and music benefit for the Matrix Parent Network and Resource Center.
What’s happening? Hops & Harmonies features an Italian dinner, plenty of delicious Lagunitas beer, a plentiful raffle, and music inspired by the “Gypsy Jazz” of Django Reinhardt (that would be the band Vardo) and bluegrass-rock served up in three-part harmony (that would be O Happy Dagger).
Who does it help? The Matrix Parent Network and Resource Center is a non-profit North Bay organization providing support to families and parents of children with special needs. For additional information visit MatrixParents.org.

The event takes place at Lagunitas Brewing Company, 1280 North McDowell Blvd. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door (adults), and $10 (children 7-17), with kids under 6 free. SONOMA COUNTY WILDLIFE RESCUE – PICK-YOUR-OWN PRODUCE CLUB
Ongoing monthly Garden Club program
The Garden Club is the Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue’s community supported agriculture program, raising funds to assist the not-for-profit in its work aiding and advocating for local wildlife.
What’s happening? For a $20 monthly fee (or $200 a year), Garden Club members can visit the center’s Wildlife Education Garden, once every week, and pick a bag of fresh vegetables.
Who does it help? All proceeds from the Garden Club benefit the Predator Exclusion and Educational Barnyard program of Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue. It’s an innovative and interactive educational program created as a way to assist rural Sonoma County residents struggling to find a balance between the needs of their domestic animals and the region’s many wild animals. The Education Barnyard houses a learning lab, where students and community members learn how livestock and pets can be protected from nature’s many predators, focusing on methods that minimize of eliminate harm to Sonoma County wildlife.
