Cracked crab drives local crustacean fans crackers

A round-up of upcomcoming crab feeds in Petaluma|

“My father was a preacher in Maryland and we had crab feasts, out on the church lawn,” recalls musician and pop-singer Tori Amos, describing the feasts of her childhood as including plenty of crab, corn-on-the-cob, and all the usual crab-related fixings. “But no beer,” she adds, “being Methodist.”

Such will not be the case in Petaluma, where it seems like every other nonprofit in town is having a crab-feed fundraiser, with all the side-dishes one would want - and plenty of beer, wine, and occasional hard drinks (probably a no-hosted bar, but read the fine print, because some of the events listed below include a hosted bar for the ticket price). Take a look, pick your crab-feed (and your favorite beverage) and remember that these events all go to supporting good causes.

In most cases, early purchase of tickets is recommended, as many of these annual events sell out far in advance.
