Celebrating the natural beauty of Petaluma

To mark Earth Day, a “scrapbook” of snapshots by local photographers|

Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22.

To mark the occasion, we thought we’d refrain from long, prosaic essays explaining (once again) why we should take better care of the planet, or scolding ourselves (though some reckless planet-dwellers do deserve it) for failing to be better stewards of the Earth. Instead of the traditional mountains of words, this year we thought we’d honor that age-old saying about a picture being worth a blah, blah, blah … and have, instead, turned to the amazing photographers who regularly post their local snapshots on the ‘I Love Petaluma!’ Facebook page. This is but a fraction of the many beautiful pictures of nature, in and around town, from the river to the hills, that Petaluma photographers post on a daily basis.

And because words are important (sometimes), we’ve included a few thoughts from the photographers themselves.

Happy Earth Day.
