PD’s K9 Program

Friday, Aug. 10, 7 p.m.

What’s happening? The Petaluma Police Department’s Seventh annual Dog Bowl Tournament fundraiser for the PD’s celebrated K9 program. Everyone is welcome to participate, and trophies and prizes will be awarded to serious contenders. The top team will gain free entry for next year’s games.

Who does it help? The proceeds from the fundraiser will ultimately go towards the department’s K9 program which ensures appropriate training and care.

HARVEST BARN DANCE –

Benefit for Tara Firma

Farms Institute

Saturday, Aug. 18, 6 p.m.

What’s happening? It’s an evening of good, old-fashioned square dancing with a modern day twist, with live music by Evie Ladin, held out at the beautiful Tara Firma Farm.

Who does it help? The Tara Firma Farms Institute supports programs that put young people in contact with farmyard experiences. Learn more at TaraFirmaFarms.com.

AT TWILIGHT:

ARTS CELEBRATION -

Benefit for North Coast

Ballet California

Saturday, Aug. 18, 6:30 p.m.

What’s happening? Kicking off its 37th year of ballet training and performance in Petaluma, North Coast Ballet California presents its third annual “At Twilight” show, a gala fundraiser with live music from Sonoma Strings and the jazz duo of Neil Fontano and Johnny Bones. Also part of the fun will be displays of artwork by local artists, food and wine (including catered snacks from JavAmore), and a performance of dances from “Don Quixote” and other ballets, danced by members of the company.

Who does it help? North Coast Ballet California is a pre-professional company based in Petaluma.

Its students and members perform across the county and beyond. Now 37 years old, the company has been a mainstay of the Sonoma County arts scene for nearly four decades. Learn more at NorthCoastBallet.org

TRAXX BAR & GRILL

GOLF TOURNAMENT –

A benefit for the Petaluma

Educational Foundation

Monday, Aug. 27, 11 a.m.

What’s happening? The 13th annual Traxx Bar & Grill Golf Tournament takes place at Rooster Run Golf Course, and features prizes for first, second and third place teams.

Additionally, there will be awards for the longest drive and closest to the pin. Lunch at the golf course is included, and after the tourney, the awards will be presented during dinner at Traxx Bar & Grill.

Who does it help? All proceeds go to support local kindergarten-12th grade students through the Petaluma Educational foundation. PEFinfo.com.
