FESTIVAL OF TREES
Presented annually by the Fabulous Women of Sonoma County, the Festival of Trees is a grand holiday party blended with an exhibition and auction of a large number of whimsically decorated trees. The event raises money for specifically selected nonprofits, to be announced on night one of the two-day event. The outrageously innovative pop-electronic-vocal “project” known as “tUnE-yArDs” (that’s how the name is spelled out), is the brainchild of New England musician Merrill Garbus. Blending all manner of techno-tools (looping, synth, lo-fi percussion, ukulele riffs) with complex and jaw-dropping vocals, tUnE-yArDs - with bassist Nate Brenner - comes to the Mystic in support of the upcoming album “I Can Feel You Creep Into My Private Life.” Opening will be Linafornia. Broadway Holiday Spectacular
Blending the best of Broadway and the happiest tunes of the season, Transcendence Theatre Company celebrates Christmas with a dazzling song-and-dance spectacular. Invitational BlueGrass Jam
If you play bluegrass and live in or around the Bay Area, you’ve already heard of Twin Oaks Roadhouse’s Invitational Bluegrass Jam, taking place the first and third Sunday of every month. Music in the Mansion
Cinnabar Theater’s annual holiday concert - descriptively and accurately called Music in the Mansion - is exactly that: gorgeous music performed in one of Petaluma’s exquisite Victorian mansions. This year it’s a violin serenade with Claire-Jeanne Martin on violin, accompanied by pianist Nancy Hayashibara.
