Holiday classic ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ returns

North Bay Performing Arts Association and Contessi Ballet present ‘The Nutcracker” Nov. 28-29.|

It’s time once again for sugar plum fairies, princes and mouse kings as Petaluma’s North Bay Performing Arts Association and Contessi Ballet present the holiday classic, “The Nutcracker” Nov. 28-29.

Staged and choreographed by Marcella Contessi Smith, the production stars guest dancer David Bertlin, formerly with the Oakland Ballet, as the Nutcracker Prince; Megan Holland as Clara; Ignacio Gonzalez as Drosselmeyer; Ariana Mitchell as Snow Queen; and Noelle Brennan as Sugar Plum Fairy.

The North Bay Performing Arts Association is responsible for providing volunteers and fundraising efforts to fund all performances of the North Bay Performing Arts Center - Contessi Ballet School. The Association is a California nonprofit organization established in 1995, which consists of all volunteers, and is dedicated to facilitating opportunities in the performing arts with an emphasis on ballet for children of all ages in Sonoma County.

Show times are at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 and 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at Spreckels Performing Arts Center, 5409 Snyder Lane in Rohnert Park.

Tickets are $25 adults; $20 students with I.D. and seniors 65 and over; and $15 children 10 and under. There is a $2 ticket facility fee.
