Update: West Payran Street reopened after water pipe burst

Petaluma police said early Friday morning that a water line that burst on West Payran Street at Petaluma Boulevard North was fixed and the roadway was open.

The pipe broke at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon and gushed water onto the roadway until it was about 18 inches deep, according to Petaluma police.

Westbound lanes of West Payran Street were closed at Petaluma Boulevard North for many hours while Petaulma Publics Works crews scrambled to fix the break.
