Petaluma firefighters battling garage blaze

A garage caught fire in southern Petaluma Wednesday afternoon, according to emergency fire dispatch reports.

Several people called at 2:06 p.m., saying they could see lots of black smoke in the area. The fire was at a residence on South McDowell Boulevard near Caulfield Lane.

A Petaluma fire engine and ambulance arrived about one minute later and fire officials reported the garage was ablaze.

Rancho Adobe and Cal Fire firefighters were called to help Petaluma firefighters.
