Fundraiser for family that lost belongings in fire

Beyond the Glory will host a dine-and-donate fundraiser Monday, April 29, from 5 to 9 p.m. to help the Olliver family, who lost their home in a fire Wednesday afternoon.

Jason and Trusiana Olliver, who were renting the home in the 700 block of South McDowell Boulevard, have been devastated by the fire that consumed the single-story home's garage and collapsed a portion of the roof, according to family friend Amy Taylor.

"The kids don't want to go to school, and everyone is emotionally wrecked," said Taylor. "They've lost everything they own and literally have nothing."

The Ollivers and their three children, Jaden, 14, and twins Masey and Myles, 12, are currently staying with Trusiana Olliver's brother in Petaluma. The fire not only damaged much of the home, it destroyed nearly everything the family owned. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the fire and the family's three pets - a dog and two cats - were all eventually found safe and unharmed.

Taylor said the fundraiser will be held to help the family get back on their feet, since they did not have renters insurance.
