Petaluma-based Clover Stornetta Farms will soon be awarded for its efforts in sustainable farming and business.
The award, from the office of Assemblymember Jared Huffman, D-San Rafael, recognizes the company's efforts to work with small family farms and improve water conservation and energy efficiency. The company has recently installed solar panels and energy-efficient lighting at its Petaluma building. It is also building LEED-certified housing for workers on-site.
Huffman was to present the award, given monthly to "green" businesses in his district, to Clover Stornetta president Marcus Benedetti this past Wednesday.
