Retired Petaluma Junior High math teacher dies

A longtime math teacher at Petaluma Junior High School, David T. Noble died on Jan. 17, 2015. He was 93.

A native of Cranston, R.I., Noble was a World War II veteran who was an active member of a veteran pilot group.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, LaVerne P. (Maestretti) Noble of Petaluma; children, Jo-Anna Noble of Windsor, Laura Wiley of Willits, Michael Foster of Willits, Lisa Dawson of Sebastopol, David Noble, Jr. of Sonoma, Peter Foster of Santa Rosa, William Foster of Truckee, Timothy Noble of Rocklin, Elizabeth Sower of Carmichael, Robert Foster of Santa Rosa; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his children, Jeffrey and Rebecca Foster, William Foster; and sister, Glenna Louise Stenhouse.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice by the Bay or the Petaluma Educational Foundation.
