Two men were arrested Friday at a home on the 1600 block of Weaverly Road after the Petaluma Police Department responded to a call about detailed criminal activity that turned out wasn’t actually taking place.

“That area is very well known to us,” Lt. Dan Fish said on Monday. “We focus on it for the neighbors who live there. We made some arrests, but we were called in thinking that something big was happening, like an assault. Someone called us with bad information.”

One man was arrested on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. A second was taken to jail based on an existing outstanding warrant.

Eleven people were handcuffed on the scene as the Petaluma police sorted out the situation.

“It’s hard to really give too many details because there were juveniles involved,” Fish said. “It wasn’t necessarily drug-related. We just got the situation under control, then wound up just arresting the two men.”
