It might be difficult to figure out exactly when she’s working, but Lucky’s Patti Ingram makes a shopping trip well worth the time.

“We work different shifts all the time, but I just love my job,” said Ingram, this week’s Service Person of the Week. “I love talking to my customers. It doesn’t matter what I’m doing in the store. They’re so nice.”

Customers find visiting with Ingram at her store at 1000 Petaluma Blvd. North equally appealing.

“Patti loves her job and always makes me laugh,” said Linda Mathies, who nominated Ingram for the honor.

Ingram does more than most to engage her customers.

“She actually gave me a Christmas gift,” Mathies said. “She really knows me as a neighbor and not just a customer. She is a big reason why I shop at my favorite Lucky’s store.”

Ingram really does adore the job.

“It’s really nice when I see customers pass a chance to move to a shorter checkout line because they want to stay in my line,” she said.

Ingram’s the fourth of five nominees to be chosen as Service Person of the Week.

Beginning March 6, readers will vote to determine which of the five should be crowned Service Person of the Year. The winner will be honored in the Argus-Courier and at the 2015 Community Awards of Excellence on March 26.

To nominate an individual for Service Person of the Week, write a letter or email a nomination to yovanna.bieberich@argus courier.com to tell us why the nominee should be considered. (Nominations will not be accepted by telephone).

Nominations can cover all aspects of the service industry, from cashiers and clerks to baristas and servers - not managers, supervisors or business owners.
