Dunham School student best Petaluma speller

Sophia Bauer, a sixth-grader at Dunham Charter School, was Petaluma’s top finisher in the Sonoma County Office of Education’s countywide spelling competition.|

Sophia Bauer, a sixth-grader at Dunham Charter School, was Petaluma’s top finisher in the Sonoma County Office of Education’s countywide spelling competition. Bauer finished sixth in the elementary school competition.

Fourth grader Andrew Prasetya of Meadow School finished eighth.

Fiona Sweet, a sixth-grader from Strawberry School, won the elementary school championship with sixth-grader Varnika Kailash from Santa Rosa Accelerated Charter School second. Griffin Earl-Egginger, a sixth-grader at the Sixth Grade Academy, was 12th and Sam Basich, a fifth-grader at Corona Creek School, finished 14th.

Emily Greenlief, a seventh grader at Mary Collins at Cherry Valley, was Petaluma’s top junior high school speller, finishing seventh.

Miko Brown, another seventh-grader at Mary Collins, was 13th; Caden Herrera, an eighth-grader at Cinnabar, was 19th; Anesia Franklin, a seventh-grader at Harvest Christian, was 23rd; Alejandro Felix, a seventh-grader at Cinnabar, was 27th; Ashley O’Toole, a seventh grader at St. Vincent de Paul, was 34th; and Nicholas Fowles, a seventh-grader at St. Vincent, was 35th.
