Masked man robs Petaluma convenience store

Detectives are looking into whether Monday’s robber could be the man who last Wednesday held up a gas station and convenience store for cash and a grocery pharmacy for drugs.|

Wearing all black and a black ski mask, a man believed to be carrying a gun walked into a Petaluma convenience store early Monday, demanding money from the register, police said.

It is the fourth such robbery since three Petaluma businesses were hit last Wednesday.

In this case, the man walked into the 7-Eleven store on Petaluma Boulevard South at about 12:45 a.m. The man didn’t show a weapon but the clerk told officers he believed the man was armed with a gun, police said.

The masked man then ran out of the store, apparently headed toward D Street.
