Petaluma Police arrested Bryan Robey, 42, for battery and resiting arrest on Monday afternoon at the Sonoma County Alano Club at 1050 Petaluma Boulevard North.

Police were called for a report of an unwanted subject at the Alano Club around 12:22 p.m. April 27. The unwanted subject who was later identified Robey had entered the Alano Club and began yelling at staff members and not following club rules. He was escorted outside as police were called. When he got outside, he hit one of the staff members in the face twice causing an abrasion and swelling to the side of the victims face.

When police officer Dario Giomi arrived on scene, he located Robey along a fence north of the Alano Club. According to police, Giomi gave Robey orders to turn around, and when Robey did, he put his hands up in front of him and yelled at the officer to tase him. Robey then began to walk away while Giomi gave him orders to stop. Robey stopped and again turned on Giomi with his hands clenched in a fist and his body in a fighting stance. He yelled at Giomi and began to take a step toward him while the officer continued to order Robey to stop.

Robey moved toward Giomi, who then deployed his Taser. As he did, Robey turned his back and the probes from the Taser landed in his back. Robey was able to run for approximately five to six feet before the Taser was able to incapacitate him and he fell to the ground. Robey did not sustain any injuries due to the use of the Taser.

Robey was taken into custody and taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital for medical clearance prior to being booked at the Sonoma County Jail for battery on a person, resisting a peace officer and also a no bail Sonoma County warrant which was discovered after Robey was taken into custody.
