Police searching for suspect in attempted robbery

Petaluma Police are asking for the public's help to locating Anthony Manuel Silva, 25, who is wanted for felony battery and attempted robbery that occurred May 28 at the Motel 6 on North McDowell Boulevard.

On Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at about 4:51 a.m., Petaluma Police dispatchers received a report of a battery at Motel 6. Upon arrival they located a 26-year-old male victim who had been the victim of a felony battery. The victim had facial injuries and a broken arm.

Officers learned that the suspect, Anthony Silva of Petaluma, was known to the victim and was trying to rent a room at Motel 6. When the victim was refused a hotel room by management, Silva became angry and began to hit and kick the victim. While the victim was on the ground, Silva attempted to take his wallet but the victim was able to retain his wallet. The suspect fled the scene prior to our arrival.

The victim was transported to local area hospital where he was treated for facial injuries and a broken arm.

Officers have not been able to locate Silva and are asking the public for help.
