Fire calls, week of August 24 through August 30
The Petaluma Fire Department recorded 31 medical calls and 60 emergency calls during the week of August 24 through August 30. Here are a few of those reports:
FRIDAY, AUGUST 28
10:01 a.m. - All Petaluma fire stations responded to reports of a grass fire threatening structures near the intersection of West Payran Street and the Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit tracks. Firefighters arrived to find a 20-foot by 10-foot burning patch of grass, with individuals at the scene attempting to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters doused the area and brought the flames under control, and determined that the only damage was to a nearby fence. No cause was able to be determined.
