Santa Rosa DMV customers were turned away Monday after a statewide computer glitch prevented the handling of all licensing and registration matters.

Problems at the Corby Avenue facility surfaced mid-morning as technical difficulties struck an unknown number of the agency’s offices, spokesman Jaime Garza said.

People with appointments were given the choice of rescheduling or waiting for the problems to be fixed, Garza said.

Recently, appointments were being set up to two weeks out.

Technicians were continuing to work on the problem after lunch. Garza estimated it would be resolved around 2 p.m.

The office itself remained open throughout the day for other matters not involving licensing and registration, he said.
