There was some phenomenal driving on display Sunday at Sonoma Raceway.

Then there were these two guys.

Two NASCAR race fans were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing a golf cart and a pickup truck in separate incidents at the Toyota/Save Mart 350, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A few hours after the race ended, Joe Saldivar, 55, of Bakersfield, drove his personal golf cart into a pole in the camping area across Arnold Drive from the raceway, CHP officer Marc Renspurger said.

He was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa with head injuries and arrested on suspicion of DUI, Renspurger said.

Earlier in the day, Robert Anderson, 45, of Tracy, drove his 2014 Dodge pickup into a fence on the raceway property, nearly plunging down an embankment. He, too, was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Neither he nor his five passengers was injured, Renspurger said.
