MONDAY, Aug. 1

5:21 p.m. – A person in a neighboring business called the Petaluma Fire Department to report a smell of smoke coming from the restaurant under construction at 17 Petaluma Blvd. N. Firefighters arrived to find the owner remodeling the restaurant, and discovered a smouldering fire close to a basement area where the owner sas soldering a water pipe. The fire was out, and responders checked to ensure it was fully extinguished. The building does not have fire protection, the fire department noted.

SATURDAY, Aug. 6

12:05 p.m. – Firefighters responded to a reported garage fire at 2930 Edwin Kelsey Way. Responders pulled a line to attack the fire, though the resident had managed to put out the fire prior to the first arriving unit. Responders assessed a patient at the scene, and determined he did not need attention.
