City Council candidates set for forum

Candidates for a seat on the Petaluma City Council are set for the first of two scheduled forums next Thursday.

The Sept. 29 candidate forum will feature incumbents Mike Healy, Kathy Miller and Gabe Kearney as well as challenger Bill Wolpert, a planning commissioner. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Hotel Petaluma, 205 Kentucky St. It will be moderated by the Argus-Courier and is co-sponsored by the Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce and the Argus-Courier. The event will be broadcast at a later time by Petaluma Community Access television.

A second candidate forum is scheduled to take place on Oct. 4 at City Hall, 11 English St. It will begin at 6 p.m. with candidates for Petaluma City Schools District board Mary Johnson, Frank Lynch and Ellen Webster, followed by the city council candidates. That forum is co-sponsored by the American Association of University Women, the League of Women Voters and the Argus-Courier.
