Kaiser joins SRJC challenge with?$100,000 gift

Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center has made a gift of $100,000 to the Santa Rosa Junior College 100th Anniversary Campaign. The gift is designated to fund health sciences programs.

The Kaiser Permanente gift matches that of the lead gift from Exchange Bank and additional matches by American AgCredit, Sarah and Darius Anderson, The Codding Foundation and Clover Stornetta Farms, all of which join a transformational legacy gift from SRJC alumnus David Del Monte and his wife, Dede.

“Many of our community’s future doctors, nurses and other health care professionals are trained and educated at SRJC,” said Judy Coffey, RN, senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente Marin-Sonoma. “Kaiser Permanente is honored to join with other community leaders in support of Santa Rosa Junior College.”

SRJC Superintendent/President Dr. Frank Chong expressed his appreciation to Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center for its gift to the campaign. “I offer heartfelt thanks to all our influential campaign leaders for honoring this important milestone with support for the future of the College, and for challenging others to do the same,” he said. “Their contributions will change the lives of countless students and their families, and will shape the future of our community and the workforce of tomorrow. The gift from Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center in support of our health sciences students and programs will impact the health and wellness of our entire region.”

The SRJC 100th Anniversary Campaign was publicly launched at the president’s address to the community in May by campaign co-chairs Al Maggini and Pam Chanter with a goal to raise?$15 million by the end of 2018. The campaign is focused on support for the following four areas: student scholarships and support, faculty development, instructional programs and equipment and endowment growth. To date, $2.6 million has been raised toward the campaign goal.
