Petaluma police arrested a woman suspected of stealing packages from a resident’s front porch.

The theft happened Monday night at a house on the 1500 block of Colwood Drive, police said.

Jamie Lamm, 27, of Santa Rosa, is suspected of grabbing packages and walking off.

The victim apparently chased after her and found her hiding in bushes on the 1500 block of Sierra Drive.

Lamm turned over the packages and apologized before fleeing again, police said. Officers summoned by the victim’s 911 call arrested her six blocks away.

She was found to be in possession of credit cards, mail and checks belonging to seven other victims, police said.

Lamm was booked into the Sonoma County jail on charges of petty theft and possession of stolen property.
