Here are some of the cases the Petaluma police responded to recently. The Argus-Courier publishes the names of people arrested for serious crimes such as those involving physical injury, property loss or damage of property, including burglary, battery, vandalism and drunken driving. People who are found innocent or who have charges dropped may contact the Argus-Courier to have follow-up information published.

Wednesday, Jan. 18

3:30 p.m.: Police arrested El Verano resident Shane Stieper, 32, at 1363 North McDowell Blvd. on misdemeanor charges of obstructing/resisting a police officer, burglary/shoplifting less than $950 and a violation of probation.

8:45 p.m.: Officers logged a report of a battery at 418 6th St.

Thursday, Jan. 19

6:07 a.m.: Petaluma’s Justin Blanchfield, 34, was arrested at a location on 5th Street on allegations of misdemeanor battery domestic violence on a spouse/date/etc. and a violation of probation.

Friday, Jan. 20

9:15 p.m.: Anthony Yates, a 23-year-old Petaluma resident, was arrested at 23 Petaluma Blvd. North on suspicion of misdemeanors of battery on a person, public intoxication and a bench warrant.

7:55 a.m.: A vehicle was reportedly stolen at Ellis and Madison streets.

Saturday, Jan. 21

12:30 p.m.: Hollywood resident Paul Baker, 32, was arrested at North McDowell Boulevard and East Washington Street for misdemeanor charges of damage to power connecting lines and possession of a controlled substance and for a felony charge of causing harm or death to an elder or dependent.

6:30 p.m.: Police arrested Angela Schardt, 33, of Santa Rosa for misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, an infraction of possessing alcohol in a vehicle and for a bench warrant.

11:36 p.m.: Petaluma’s Jose Cornejo, 24, was arrested at a location on Lakeville Highway for alleged battery domestic violence on a spouse/ex/date, etc, a misdemeanor.

Sunday, Jan. 22

11:29 a.m.: Nikolas Nemoede, a 23-year-old Petaluma resident, was arrested at 103 North McDowell Blvd. on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and obstructing or resisting a police officer.

1:15 a.m.: Police responded to reports of a fight at 55 Maria Drive, but officers didn’t locate the scuffle upon arrival.

6:56 a.m.: A commercial burglary was reported at 429 North McDowell Blvd. A second commercial burglary was reported at 10:47 a.m. at 401 Kenilworth Drive.

4:08 p.m.: Officers took a report for a grand theft at 2200 Petaluma Blvd. North.

Monday, Jan. 23

3:17 p.m.: Jose Guillen, a 33-year-old Petaluma resident, was arrested at a location on Lakeville Circle for a felony charge of assault domestic violence with injury and a misdemeanor of child endangerment.
